I am an accredited coach for lawyers. I am also an ex-lawyer, a foundational therapist and a dad to two (soon to be three) kids (plus a noisy dog).
My journey to the Carvalho Consultancy
I was at Farrer & Co for close to a decade and a half. I specialised in high value trust and estate disputes which were often multi-jurisdictional and complex. I had a very busy workload and was involved in business development and strategy.
I’ve always had an interest in therapy and coaching. My parents both worked as psychotherapists (in the NHS and privately) so it is probably in my blood. Contentious trusts is one of those areas where psychology is an element of the work.
I had a real interest in works of psychology and practical philosophy while I was developing my practice at Farrers and applied this to my work – I found it helped me stay calm and enjoy the work while I did it.
When the opportunity came up to ‘pivot’ to working with Annmarie at the Consultancy I took it. I’ve really enjoyed working with lawyers to help them develop and deal with issues which are coming up for them.
You can see more about the work I do under the ‘Coaching’ tab.
What to expect?
I have a calm, warm and relaxed approach. We will unpack the issues you want to deal with and then work towards new perspectives and making positive changes.
I offer free half hour sessions where we can discuss whether coaching would be useful for you and you can get to know me a bit before deciding whether you would like to have coaching with me. If you would like a session please do book in below.
