It would be worth family lawyers, coaches, mediators checking out this fascinating-sounding Confer & Tavistock training. Cross-fertilisation of knowledge & ideas between the therapeutic and family law worlds are really helpful 👍🏼 @GillianFLiP

New year...new you? Do you, like me, cringe 😬 when you see the usual New Year platitudes about ‘changing your life’? Mainly because they often make empty promises about changing your entire mindset, personality, body etc. Most of us haven’t got the energy for all that after the year we just had....If you’d like to make changes that actually stick, the best way is to harness your own pre-existing ability to change. So, try the following:1. Think of a time in your life when you already made a change (albeit in a different area of your life to your present problem), be it ending a bad relationship, stopping/cutting down on alcohol or cigarettes, leaving a job you didn’t like...anything that comes to mind.2. What skills did making that change require? Was it perseverance, tenacity, self-belief, persuasiveness etc - list all the skills you needed to make that change. These are all skills you possess now, albeit presently untapped.3. Now write ✍️ down the thing you’d like to change now. Be specific. What 3 steps can you take towards making that change now? What 3 potential roadblocks can you identify? How can you overcome/resist the roadblocks?*If you’d like to speak to a therapist about making lasting changes in your life, contact us at www.carvalhotherapy.com* ... See MoreSee Less
