We had a great first meeting of the *City Well-being Hub* yesterday.

With huge thanks to Stephen Bevan for his presentation and for initiating a great discussion about illness at work and specifically long-term, chronic and terminal illness.

We discussed issues including:

– The merits of firms having terminal illness policies (the vast majority don’t)

– The possibility of having specific policies for long-term sickness.

– The efficacy of Mental Health First Aid and other well-being strategies.

Also, and probably most importantly, how to support well those in your workforce with terminal illness or who have dependants/family members with long-term/chronic/terminal illness.

With the expected rise in the workforce suffering from long-term illnesses (including those which are fluctuating and, as yet, ill-understood such as long Covid), these are issues which law firms need to look at now more than ever.

Are you a HR representative/partner responsible for well-being? Would you like to join the City Well-being Hub?

If so, get in touch with Emily Wilson on info@carvalhotherapy.com to be added to our mailing list.

And thanks to all who came along and contributed.
