Earlier this year, we were thrilled to be announced as finalists for two prestigious awards at the Modern Law Awards. We announced the exciting news a couple of weeks ago that we had in fact won BOTH of them – ‘Best Innovation’ and ‘Supporting the Industry ‘awards. These accolades are deeply meaningful to us, and we’d like to share why they resonate so strongly.
Our motto, “because we’ve walked in your shoes,” reflects our unique advantage: we are the only therapy and coaching organisation staffed by former lawyers and professionals who have worked at the highest levels of professional services. The consistent and excellent feedback we receive from our clients highlights the importance of this experience to our credibility and success.
Five years ago, we launched our innovative in-house therapeutic support scheme, which has since expanded to include six different firms. Why do these firms choose us over traditional employee assistance programs? The answer lies in our specialised service. Our clients often tell us that our shared background creates a kind of ‘shorthand’ that greatly enhances our effectiveness.
As a small company, we pride ourselves on delivering a personal, bespoke service to each client. We maintain regular face-to-face check-ins with our firms, fostering strong relationships and providing a level of client service that traditional EAPs simply cannot match. Our flexibility allows us to adapt to each firm’s needs, varying the quota and format of sessions accordingly. Whether it’s one-on-one sessions or group therapeutic support and supervision, we get to know our firms well, enabling us to address group dynamics and common challenges proactively. We then offer targeted training to address these areas of difficulty.
In times of crisis and emergency, our firms turn to us as a trusted resource. We provide urgent troubleshooting services for safeguarding issues involving lawyers, support staff, and clients, including situations involving suicidality and really difficult situations. Our commitment to our clients is unwavering, offering support at short notice and even on weekends when necessary.
Beyond immediate support, we also provide strategic assistance by drafting policies for law firms. This includes introducing vulnerable client policies and safety plans and helping firms create a culture that supports their lawyers in managing emotionally challenging situations.
