Individual Therapy

At TCC, we offer counselling and psychotherapy to support you in your work and in your life.

We specialise in supporting lawyers and those involved in legal processes, drawing on our own experiences from that world.

You can choose between our therapists, Annmarie, Kate, Tim or Stephanie. While we each offer different specialisms and experience, we share the same ethos. You can find out more about how we each work below.

We also provide therapeutic supervision for lawyers.

Annmarie's style is engaging, insightful, balanced, calm and non-judgemental, mixed with great intellect and humour. I highly recommend working with her.'

Annmarie

Life is all about relationships: with ourselves and with others.

So a lot of therapy is about taking an honest look at our relationships (at both work and home) and changing what’s no longer working for us.

I often work with clients on attachment styles that form in childhood and which affect our lives as adults. I also work with various forms of addiction, with a particular interest in alcoholism, co-dependency and relationship addiction.

My style of counselling has a strong coaching element to it and I use Motivational Interviewing a great deal; a highly effective technique for helping clients to work towards change. My style is innovative and practical and offers great results.

'I can truly say that the experience of working with Annmarie was life-changing and now I feel I have the emotional tools to face new challenges in the future.'

Tim

I work with individuals dealing with anxiety or stress in their daily life and specialise in difficulties with relationships.

These might be:

I provide a safe, supportive setting within which to explore your challenges and perhaps the link with early experience. With me, you can discover better ways of coping and bringing about the positive change you want in your life.

Stephanie

I am an integrative psychotherapist and executive coach and, as a former barrister, I specialise in working with legal professionals.

I will work collaboratively with you to identify which approach might suit you best, whether that is outcome-focused approach, including an emphasis on strategies to cope, or a more open, explorative experience.  As a coach and psychotherapist, I can offer you a blended experience of the two; whatever works best for you.

My approach tends to be active and engaged, with an intention to help you achieve insight into what makes you tick.

Combining therapeutic insight and coaching techniques, I offer a variety of skills and experience to help my lawyer clients with whatever has brought them to therapy.

Kate

I am a psychodynamic therapist and specialise in supporting people through stresses and difficulties in life, including change, bereavement and grief.

Working psychodynamically means that we look at your thoughts and feelings in the present and explore and make sense of them in relation to past relationships and early experiences.

You may be looking for help for a specific issue, such as the loss of a loved one, the ending of a relationship, have feelings of anxiety or low mood at work, or struggle to create boundaries for yourself between your work and personal life.

My therapeutic practice is informed by my experience of working as a family lawyer for over a decade and as a family mediator.

I am passionate about supporting lawyers therapeutically with the pressures and demands of both work and home life.
