I am an experienced Integrative Psychotherapist and Executive Coach registered with the BACP.
I am an experienced Integrative Psychotherapist and Executive Coach registered with the BACP. I have a Masters in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy from the University of Roehampton (Distinction). As a former barrister, I specialise in working with legal professionals.
I became a psychotherapist and coach after eight years at the criminal bar and four years as an employed barrister working for the government. I have worked with a wide variety of people from all walks of life, and with many different reasons for coming to therapy or seeking executive coaching, both in the NHS and in private practice, and have conducted research into the psychological toll on barristers of conducting rape and sexual assault cases.
As an integrative practitioner, I am trained in several different theories and therapeutic modalities, including the humanistic and psychodynamic approaches and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). We will work collaboratively on identifying which style suits you best, whether that is outcome-focused approach, including an emphasis on strategies to cope, or a more open, explorative experience. As a coach and psychotherapist, I can offer you a blended experience of the two; whatever works best for you.
While you will have some immediate pressing issues that have led you to seeking support, there may also be some longer-term, underlying issues concerning you, and it is important to me that you feel comfortable and secure to talk about your problems, experiences and personal thoughts. My approach tends to be active and engaged, with an intention to help you achieve insight into what makes you tick.
