I’m an integrative psychotherapist (BACP-registered) with a professional background as a chartered accountant, having begun my career at Deloitte LLP. Having spent over a decade working in professional services, I understand the demands of high-performance environments and the pressures that can come with ambitious careers. Alongside my therapy practice, I also work as a consultant within the charity sector and as a trainer to aspiring counsellors.
I work particularly with lawyers and other professionals navigating anxiety, burnout, career pressure, life transitions, and questions around identity and direction. Behind professional success, there can be a very different internal experience: feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, exhausted, or uncertain about what comes next. The ability to remain composed and capable at work can sometimes make it harder to acknowledge when things are no longer sustainable.
I understand the culture of professional environments where high standards, long hours, intellectual rigour, and a strong sense of responsibility are often the norm. For lawyers in particular, the demands of the profession can extend beyond workload. Whether that is the pressure to perform, the challenge of maintaining boundaries, difficult working relationships, or career uncertainty, there can often be a sense that your professional identity has become closely tied to your sense of self.
Therapy can provide an opportunity to step outside that pressure and consider what is really going on beneath the surface. I work with clients experiencing anxiety and burnout, as well as those facing significant life transitions. This includes changing roles, reconsidering their career, navigating promotion or redundancy, or questioning whether their current path still feels right. We can explore both the immediate difficulties and the deeper patterns that may be contributing to them.
Culture and identity are also important parts of my work. Our cultural, social, and professional backgrounds shape how we understand ourselves, our relationships, our ambitions, and our sense of belonging. Having navigated different professional and personal identities myself, I am particularly interested in the ways these intersect, and in particular, how cultural expectations can influence what we believe we should achieve, how we cope, and what we feel able to ask for.
My approach is warm, grounded, and relational. I offer a confidential and non-judgemental space where you don’t need to have everything figured out or present a polished version of yourself. Together, we can make sense of what you are experiencing, develop greater self-awareness, and consider what might need to change.
I work collaboratively, combining curiosity and challenge with respectful compassion, and tailor our work to your individual circumstances.
Alongside my therapy practice, I am a counselling tutor, mental health trainer, and mentor to young entrepreneurs. Outside work, I’m a father to two energetic teenage boys, where I get to release my inner child!
