Coming Autumn 2025: Staying Sane in Family Law

A Survival Guide for Lawyers Working in the Most Emotionally Charged Practice Area

Our founder, Annmarie’s debut book, Staying Sane in Family Law, is set for release on 30 September 2025 published by Bath Publishing. It’s a deeply practical and refreshingly honest guide for anyone in the family law world on how to navigate the emotional intensity of practice (with a big dollop of humour!). Family law asks a lot of lawyers - compassion, clarity, resilience, emotional control, and mental stamina. Burnout, vicarious trauma and overwhelm are often part of the job. This book helps you stay steady, human, and effective in the middle of it all. Inside, she shares:

  • Tools to protect your mental health
  • Strategies for building emotional resilience
  • Ways to keep boundaries with difficult or distressed clients
  • Real-world stories from the frontline (Annmarie's included)

Whether you’re just starting out or have decades of experience, this book will help you not just survive, but thrive in family law. Click here to come to a seminar (and get a free book!) - Attend the seminar

Katie Bieneman

With a background in marketing within the world of fine wine, I bring extensive experience and a refined understanding of client engagement. In my role as Executive Associate at TCC, I oversee our finance and administration and I am often the key point of contact for our clients.

Exploring my deep-rooted fascination with the psychology of human behaviour, I recently completed a Foundation Certificate in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy at The Minster Centre with a view to training to become an Integrative Psychotherapist.

I also bring a unique perspective on the pressures faced by those in the legal profession, informed by the experience of my partner, who is a practising lawyer. Outside of work and study, I’m a mum to two energetic young children. I love travelling, immersing myself in different cultures, and spending time outdoors.

Different personalities.
Shared Ethos.
